Made famous by the words of Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns, Aberfeldy is a pretty little town along the banks of the River Tay in Perthshire. A popular holiday town, Aberfeldy has a strong fair-trade ethic with many of the local markets and retailers trying to promote organic and environmentally friendly products and wares.
As mentioned in the poem, the Birks of Aberfeldy are certainly worth a visit. Birks are the wooded waterfalls and gorges found on a tributary of the Tay, and they are much easier to visit than in Burns’ day, with a network of easily accessible footpaths and bridges across the water and under the falls.
Our cottages in Aberfeldy are the perfect base for you to explore this lovely town and its surrounding area, offering you a true taste of Scotland in the Dewar’s World of Whisky Distillery and the Breadalbane Bakery, as well as a chance for your adrenaline to surge from white water rafting on the rivers!
