Ayr is a pretty seaside resort town in the centre of beautiful Ayrshire County. The town enjoys beautiful views out over the Firth of Clyde and across to the impressive peaks that dominate the Isle of Arran and further out. On a clear day you can see the emerald hues of the Mull of Kintyre. Ayr’s seafront is full of traditional charm and the long soft sandy beach is the perfect place to lay your towel when the sun is shining, or stroll along the pretty esplanade and admire the views.
There’s plenty to do when you choose to stay in one of our holiday cottages in Ayr. Visit the birthplace and accompanying museum of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, who was born just outside the town in Alloway. For a sophisticated day out, visit the historic Ayr Racecourse which is the venue for the Scottish Grand National. Ayr town itself has some lovely shops and an appealing old world feel.
