Discover this romantic, luxury treehouse retreat in the Cairngorms National Park with idyllic views and a hot tub from which to enjoy this complete seclusion. After long days of hiking up Mount Blair, come home to piping hot mugs of hot chocolate, relaxation by the wood burner and stargazing on the balcony – this truly is a magical couple's bolthole.

Walk up the wooden walkway and into this unique property, where you will be greeted with a myriad of plaids, tartans and striking wood accents for a particularly cosy ambience. The open-plan lounge/diner/bedroom is an airy space thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows and doors and is a constant reminder of the dramatic scenery surrounding you.

Cuddle up on the sofa to watch a film on the TV or simply gaze at the mountain vistas. In the separate kitchen, whip up simple suppers to enjoy at the breakfast bar or create a culinary fusion of flavours and serve up around the dining table. On a cosy night in, curl up beside the wood burner and relax as it quietly crackles, or enjoy a dram of whisky and chat way into the night. When it's time for bed, drift off in the super-king-size bed and awake to an indulgent soak in the double-ended bathtub.

Doors lead from the living space and down to the bubbling hot tub, which we're sure will beckon you at least once during your stay. Spend the evening in here stargazing with a glass of something cool, or get comfy on the outdoor furniture and treat yourselves to a feast cooked on the BBQ.

Spend time getting to know the area with a hike around Glenshee, the entrance to the Cairngorms National Park. With over 100 paths and trails across the park to explore, this spot is a hikers heaven! It's also an ideal base for those who are keen on skiing and snowboarding due to its Ski Centre (12 miles) with Britain's largest lift system, three valleys to admire and four mountains to try out. It also contains over 40km of piste runs to enjoy.

Braemar is a fantastic choice if you'd rather stay on dry land, especially if you're a passionate foodie at heart. This thriving village in the Cairngorms has many cosy cafes, lively pubs and acclaimed restaurants to choose from. Not only does it have a range of eating-out opportunities, but it's also famed for its wide selection of village artisan producers, including patisserie, craft beers and handmade chocolates. Why not take something back to the treehouse?

Pitlochry (18 miles) is well worth a visit while you're in this beautiful part of Scotland. Pursuits such as golf, cycling and hill walking are all available here, along with a trip to the Blair Athol Distillery tour, Faskally Wood, and Atholl Palace Museum.
