Wake up in the morning to home-baked goodies from the nearby ‘Courtyard’ and drag out hours wrapped up in your luxury home from home. Just 7 miles from Kirkton of Glenisla in Angus, this lovingly converted 17th-century cottage is one of two farm buildings offering a sumptuous escape surrounded by Scottish countryside.

Sleeping up to four people and welcoming two waggy-tailed pals, this cottage has been finished with the utmost eye for detail. With a contemporary flair that wouldn’t look out of place in the glossies, it also manages to retain an authentic edge and welcoming atmosphere.

Laid out across one floor, this single-storey barn is the ideal retreat for small families, groups of friends and couples looking for a blissful escape from daily life. Home to two bedrooms, you can take your pick of one king-size bed and one super king-size zip-and-link bed that can be made into a twin. For ease, there is a family bathroom with a shower over bath, perfect for soothing muscles after days on your feet.

Comprising the living areas, the beautiful open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a wonderful spot to enjoy lazy mornings, rainy afternoons and early evenings. Equipped with everything you could need, you can cook up lip-smacking family feasts to enjoy around the window-side dining table. Later, snuggle up on the sofa in the lounge and switch on the TV for a movie as night throws its cloak over the surroundings.

Step outside the lounge’s French doors and onto the patio. As dreamy on crisp winter mornings as hazy summer eves, you can make use of the patio furniture and BBQ and enjoying the stunning views towards Glenisla whilst relaxing in the hot tub.

Of course, if you fancy staying closer to home, you are welcome to explore the 650-acre farm and nearby Courtyard, which offers shopping, workshops and lots to eat! Learn a new skill and reward yourself to a delicious home-made meal created with local produce.

The old bothy was a fabulous place to stay, the owners have thought of everything and certainly have an artistic eye to detail. We loved our stay! Peaceful, tranquil and beautiful stay. Pics dont do justice to the high standard the property is done up to - just enjoying the windows out to the cows and hills are lovely. Very accommodating hosts who promptly brought over more towels when we asked. Cant wait to visit again.
