This stylish well-presented detached lodge is nestled in a peaceful setting amid the stunning scenery of Cavers in the Scottish Borders. Perfect for couples and families seeking a relaxing country retreat but only a few miles from the historic town of Hawick with its cinema, swimming pool, shops and restaurants.  Within easy reach to the picturesque villages of Denholm and Bonchester Bridge, this is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The lodge offers easy access to the city of Edinburgh by either car, bus or train.  There are numerous attractions and activities close by including salmon and trout fishing on the river Teviot and the famous river Tweed, an array of splendid local golf courses and walkers, hikers and mountain bikers are spoilt for choice with country tracks and forest trails, including the Southern Upland way, close at hand to explore.  Less than 10 miles away, Born in the Borders is a favourite with families offering grass sledging, mini beast safari, ice skating in the winter and there is a Brewery where you can learn how to brew your own beer! 

As you walk into the lodge you find a utility/cloak room then entering into the large bright open plan lounge and kitchen which opens up onto the private decking overlooking the open fields with a covered hot tub to sit back and relax in.  From the kitchen area you will find two bedrooms, 1 double with en-suite shower room and WC, a twin bedroom and a separate family bathroom with shower over the bath and WC.

Large enclosed decked balcony with seating area and private hot tub, within large private grounds which you are free to explore. Ample off-road parking for up to two cars.


Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The lodge is in a small complex of lodges. Would say that it is OK for two adults, but not for four adults. Bedrooms are small.

Such a brilliant people and fantastic hosts as always. This is our third visit here. I describe it as going home.. such a lovely location hosted by fabulous people that really cant do enough for you. Looking forward to going back

Kate was amazing from the outset, with a lovely bottle of bubbles to greet us as I had mentioned we were celebrating my Dad's birthday. The cottage has all amenities and is very spacious and well presented. The location is great, just a short drive into Hawick town centre and perfect for exploring the borders region of Scotland. Second time I have visited this lodge it's perfect for a wee getaway and chill out , relaxing in the hot tub or going for a walk in the lovely surrounding areas. You are not far from Hawick where you can eat out in in some of the lovely wee restaurants or pop in to one of the very friendly pubs . I will be back again!

Perfect stay. Location is quiet and secluded- what we were looking for. The hot tub was lovely and well maintained. One of the days the weather was pretty bad, but you would never have known from inside as its well insulated. Hot tub is also covered so the weather didnt stop us using it during the rain and winds, made even more perfect by two deer Read morethat appeared. The owners are lovely and welcoming, and kindly provided breakfast and bubbly. Will definitely return. Amazing stay. Thankyou!! Hide

The cabin was perfect. We were met outside the site & lead up to the property. Everything we needed had been supplied, and we were treated to a lovely welcome gift of bubbly & chocolates to start our honeymoon. The thoughtful supplies of bread, butter & milk were gratefully appreciated. The surroundings were peaceful & immaculate and being only 5 mRead moreinutes drive from the town was perfect. We had a peaceful relaxing time. No noise or light pollution. The lodge was spacious and airy. We experienced 40+ mile an hour winds but we would never have known as the lodge was so well insulated and sealed. The wood walks adjacent were private and peacful, excellent place way to relax and unwind. The owners left a welcome pack plus a bottle of fRead moreizz, coffee, tea sugar and oil, dishwash tabs, cloths and cleaning products. This makes self catering so much easier. Hide

Lovely lodge, well equipped, nothing was too much trouble for the owners, very friendly, made to feel welcome by all concerned, the welcome pack and bottle of fizz was very much appreciated. Would highly recommend Cavers Retreat. Will definitely return.
