Inside Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, on the shores of Loch Earn, this attractive lodge is a luxurious base for a couple’s getaway. Escape to this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where there are walks from the doorstep, and on your return go for a dip in the housed hot tub to unwind and soothe tired limbs.

The property is reverse level, with the bedroom on the ground floor and the living area upstairs, which makes it easy to get changed into the bathrobes and slippers provided and head out for a dip in the hot tub. The lodge boasts unrivalled views over the loch and the hills and mountains beyond, so whether you’re tucked up in bed or settled on the sofa you can enjoy the spectacular Scottish scenery.

Climb the four steps to the front door and head up to the stylish open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with monochrome decor. Bright and welcoming, it has everything you need for a romantic evening in, with a well-equipped kitchen to make a dinner for two, and a Smart TV in front of the sofa for relaxed screen time.

Back down the stairs on the ground floor, a super-king-size bed awaits you when it’s time to say goodnight and drift off into a deep and comfortable sleep. You can enjoy lazy mornings without moving far, as the bed faces the wide window for morning views over the loch, and the room comes with its own Smart TV as well as both an en-suite shower and separate dressing room.

The hot tub sits beside the lodge within the enclosed garden. Housed by wooden panelling, there is a viewing gallery so you can be soaking with a glass of bubbly while gazing out. Dine alfresco at the seating area at the front of the property and sit out to see the starry night sky. The road lies between the lodge and the loch.

  • 1 bedroom – super-king-size

There are walks galore in the Trossachs National Park. Many trails, ranging in difficulty and length, begin within St Fillans, a picturesque village at the loch's eastern point 1 mile from the lodge. It also has a village shop with its own cafe, where you can stock up on supplies including locally sourced produce. For more challenging walks venture further into the National Park. Lace up your hiking boots and bag a Munro by climbing the popular mountain Ben Vorlich, on the south side of Loch Earn.

The loch itself offers a range of activities, so if you are keen to get on the water then there is a watersports centre if you're feeling adventurous for experiences including kneeboarding and waterskiing, as well as sailing and fishing.

The pretty market town of Crieff (13 miles) is great for a leisurely afternoon shopping, eating, and visiting the local attractions. Those who enjoy a wee dram of whisky should head to The Glenturret Distillery for a tour and taste, while Drummond Castle has beautiful formal gardens – pack a picnic, and after a romantic stroll choose a sunny spot for lunch. Further afield, a day trip to explore the surrounding area should include the medieval ruins of majestic Doune Castle (27 miles), which is also a popular filming location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Milestone Lodge! Everything is so thoughtfully arranged, from the robes and slippers for the hot tub(which was amazing) to the little extras left for us! It is a perfect getaway for two and we will definitely be back!

An absolutely wonderful base for our week in Scotland. The Lodge was in a beautiful location. We spent many an afternoon sat in the window watching the ever changing landscape around us. A lovely property in a splendid location. It has everything you could need for a super holiday. We found the local people very friendly - ready to suggest places to visit. We visited Crieff, Calender and the amazing Glencoe. Because the property is so well situated, we didn't eat out in the evening but did visit the local store for coffee and cake

Beautiful property and amazing to have a hot tub. The welcome gifts were also much appreciated. The only slight downside was the close proximity to a main road made worse by a motorbike convention that coincided with our visit.
