For a true escape to nature, head to the North Highlands and enjoy a stay in this homely cottage. As its name suggests, the home boasts stunning, far-reaching views out to sea, presenting the pretty Reiff Bay and over to the Summer Isles. Sleeping four guests in large, comfortable beds, the home is the perfect base for long days exploring the surrounding countryside.

The home boasts a traditional countryside style, utilising antique oak furniture and offering original wooden kitchen cabinets. All of the walls in the house have been kept a fresh, clean white, which leaves the home feeling bright. Light floods in from large windows to create a cheerful place to wake up to each day, and a warming wood burner in the lounge ensures a cosy space to come home to at night.

This entire cottage is set out on one level, so you can find both bedrooms and communal spaces to relax on the ground floor. A sociable open-plan living space is the ideal spot to relax together. Find a well-equipped kitchen to one side of the room, perfect for preparing meals for all, and a dining table comfortably seating four in the centre of the room. Find the lounge to the opposite side of the room, featuring a huge window with breathtaking, far-reaching views out to sea, and a cosy wood burner. Both bedrooms boast generously sized beds, including a super king-size master bedroom and a comfy twin.

Heading outside, you’ll find a pretty patch of garden. Awash with salty sea air and offering sounds of the waves crashing in the distance, this spot is ideal for dining alfresco.

Find yourself on the secluded, sandy beach within 500 metres. This spot is perfect for spotting some of Scotland's unique sea life, including dolphins, whales and even basking sharks in the late summer or early autumn. The absence of light pollution makes this a great spot for stargazing, and you can even enjoy the Northern Lights here at certain times of the year.

There's an abundance of walking routes dotted around you, including the unique addition to the Highland's landscape of Suilven (20 miles), the slopes of Canisp (28 miles) or the relatively easy walk of the Cul Mor Corbett (19 miles). Fishing can also be enjoyed across the many vast lochs, and brown trout and salmon are all readily available. Alternatively, head out on a boat and enjoy a spot of sea angling for mackerel or skate.

For an enjoyable afternoon out, head to the local seaside village of Ullapool (25 miles). This charming spot is popular with Highlands holidaymakers, offering an indoor swimming pool, golf course and plenty of eateries, pubs and food shops. Head here to go out on an exciting sea kayaking expedition or embark on a cruise of the Summer Isles.

A beautiful warm, well equipped cottage. Fantastic scenery and wonderful wildlife. Definitely off the beaten track and not for those who want wifi or phone reception at the property!

A great location. We felt very comfortable. It was the 2nd of 3 cottages on our Scotland trip. We would have liked a small basic range of vinegar/oil, salt/sugar as in the other cottages. Wi-fi would have been nice too, but it was okey without (the kitchen window gives the best reception for phoning family back home). We can highly recommend this cRead moreottage, but be sure to shop in Ullapool beforehand ;-) Hide

We had such a brilliant time! We arrived in the dark so the first look out the window in the morning took our breath away. It was the perfect first trip away for our 2 year old who was able to just wander and potter about. We stayed for 4 nights and for all 3 days we stayed within the lanes down to the sea. The cottage itself had everything you couRead moreld possibly need, and it was ideal to stay in. We thoroughly enjoyed flicking through the visitor book dating back to 1993! This cottage was in a splendid location with stunning views and access to hiking in pristine sites. It was very comfortable for 2 people and also would have been suitable for 4 people. We loved our trip and will recommend this cottage highly to others.

We felt so welcomed and comfortable. The little details in the cottage makes you feel loved. No remarks need for the stunning view from all (!) windows. Driving to Reiff, about 27km Single Road Track, is a challange if your partner is not used to it and has driving sickness. But it is smooth and you get used to it quickly.
