This picturesque lodge sits amidst glorious countryside just south of the Pentland Hills and is also within striking distance of Edinburgh. Comfortable and welcoming, it is ideal for a family or group of friends seeking a breath of fresh air in the Scottish Borders.

Inside, the traditional log house is warm and welcoming. The soft blue colour scheme of the large, open-plan living area complements the natural wood beautifully and creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere. There are carefully chosen pieces of art on the walls throughout the property, adding a sophisticated feel.

As you enter this single-storey lodge, you’ll find yourself in the stylish open-plan living area. This lovely space is perfect for family get-togethers, with a tidy, well-equipped kitchen at one end, and a cosy lounge area at the other, where there is a comfy corner sofa and TV for evening entertainment. The dining table benefits from plenty of light as it sits next to two large windows that offer charming views out into the garden. The three bedrooms – two doubles and one twin – are all beautifully decorated in tasteful, subtle colours and all have lovely views through the windows. The main bathroom benefits from a jacuzzi bath with a shower above – ideal for soaking tired limbs after a day out exploring. There is a second 'Jack and Jill' style bathroom which is accessed via one of bedrooms and hallway. This has a large shower and WC.

Stepping outside you come onto the pretty veranda. Sheltered and south facing, it is a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy a drink or a meal, and gaze out at the attractive garden, with its mature shrubs and trees, and to the fields beyond. There is a private hot tub which is charged at £150 per week or £100 for a short break, payable directly to the owner.

Lovely lodge. Beautifully furnished. Had everything we needed. Lodge was always warm, even with temperature turned down. Gorgeous views, grandsons loved all the activity with the sheep, especially when the farmer was moving them between fields.

A well equipped lodge and beautiful gardens Clean and warm Fab hot tub ( remember this is to be paid for on top and we missed this in the information) Dogs loved it Not so easy to walk straight out of the cottage with a dog due to roads and fields full of sheep so needed to drive a mile or two to find spots to walk safely

Cottage itself was very clean and had lots of cooking equipment. Plenty of space. Whirlpool bath was great. Garden was large and grass was cut prior to arrival and the dogs loved it. The location was great for days out and there were loads of dog friendly places nearby. The owners live next door and can be contacted easily by text or phone.

Beautiful property, introduction felt a bit awkward. We did appreciate the privacy. Hot tub rules felt a bit strict as well as access times to the hot tub. I felt the house was very equipped for all cooking needs although a stool to reach the high selves in the kitchen would be a great idea. Over all water pressure in both bathrooms is very poor. Amazing holiday at Pentland, the lodge had everything we needed. Hazel was very welcoming and showed us around which was great. The hot tub was perfect to come home to. We had a lovely couple of days at Pentland Lodge with our elderly parents and dogs. The dogs really enjoyed the large garden. The weather could have been better but we still managed a couple of sessions in the hot tub. The fairy lights around the lodge and hot tub are a nice touch. The kitchen was very well kitted out. Nice walks for the dogs from Read morethe lodge. Hide

Fabulous log cabin with lovely mature spacious garden in beautiful countryside. Having the hot tub was a great bonus. Cabin was very comfortable and the wrap around porch provided a great space to sit outside even when it rained. Would happily recommend this log cabin to friends and family.
