A charming and comfortable gem of a period cottage set in 3500 acres of stunning private working farmland in the beautiful Glen Clova valley, offering cosy country living with 21st century comfort.

This beautiful cottage is located in a peaceful and tranquil setting in a glorious valley, just a few miles from the historic town of Kirriemuir in the spectacular Angus glens.  This is a paradise for walkers, hikers and mountain bikers with numerous hills, mountain ranges and country tracks to explore. The River Esk is close at hand for trout and salmon fishing, and golfers are spoilt for choice with Kirriemuir, Forfar, Rosemount, Alyth and Blairgowrie courses all close by. The wonderful and vibrant cities of Dundee, Perth and Aberdeen are also within easy reach, each offering excellent shopping and leisure facilities. With outdoor activity centres, farm parks and wildlife centres nearby, this is a fantastic base for your holiday.


On entering this charming property, you will find yourself in the cosy and inviting lounge, complete with traditional wood burner, comfy furnishings and TV/DVD. Moving into the tastefully designed kitchen/diner, you will find plenty of equipment including an electric range oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, wine cooler, TV/DVD and an attractive dining area. The washing machine and tumble dryer are located in the utility room, and there is also a handy boot room with log store. You will find one bedroom on the ground floor: a double with en-suite shower room with WC, which is accessed via 3 steps. Exploring further, the ground floor also offers a bathroom, complete with bath, separate shower and WC, as well as a separate WC. Moving up to the first floor, you will find two more bedrooms. There’s a king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into twin beds by request), and a twin zip-and-link (which can be made into a king-size bed on request).  Please note that several rooms are accessed via a few steps.


Stepping outside, you can sit back in the large enclosed garden which has its own delightful summer house with seating area and fire pit, BBQ and a custom built bench overlooking the stunning Glen Cova.  Ample off-road parking is available. Please note that dogs may be walked on the farmland, however care must be taken due to the presence of livestock.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

If you need to distress, and be away from other human beings this is the place for you. The cottage is warm, quiet and cosy. All manner of wildlife will come and visit during your stay and this adds to the charm. We intend to go again soon.

The cottage was set in the most beautiful location. Not too far from shops either. Great for children to explore. The cottage was spacious and full of character. One of our best holidays to date.

A superb location, and really well equipped, snug cottage. Very dog friendly too. There was fantastic walking in the Angus Glens, and it was only a short drive to the coast too so we had the best of both worlds. The cottage itself was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated - we particularly loved the cosy nook in the kitchen and the bench built intRead moreo the trees, both of which were lovely in the long, light Scottish evenings, when we were surrounded by birdsong and fabulous countryside. A true gem! Beautiful rural cottage, wonderful views. Very comfortable and cosy. Has everything you need. The children loved the sheep and cows around the cottage. Excellent location for walking & hiking, Glen Doll Ranger's centre is just a few minutes away at the end of the glen. We could really recommend a trip to RSPB Fowsleugh & Dunnottor CastlRead moree (1 hr.), the National Wallace monument (1.45 hrs.) and Reekie Lyn waterfall walk to Peel farm (30 min.). Hide

Very peaceful and relaxing cottage. Lots of equipment in the kitchen so if you like self catering it is ideal. The welcome pack and fresh flowers were very generous and made you feel at home immediately. There is lots of local information to help you get around and enjoy the area.
