Set in a fabulous location on the shores of the stunning Loch Fyne this is one of a pair of traditional holiday lodges nestling a couple of miles south of Ardrishaig. With plenty of space for up to four guests, the property offers spectacular views and is a fantastic base for exploring this beautiful part of the Argyll countryside.

 

This welcoming wooden lodge makes a wonderful retreat for families and couples. Tastefully furnished and stylishly decorated with pine walls throughout, the lodge makes a lovely and relaxing holiday base for discovering Argyll and the Islands.

 

As you enter this beautiful log cabin you will find the bright and inviting lounge. With a TV, plenty of comfortable seating and patio doors offering stunning views across Loch Fyne, this is an idyllic space to relax in after a wonderful day exploring. You will also find an attractive kitchen/diner which is perfect for preparing and sharing your favourite meals. The lodge also features a charming double bedroom, a pretty twin room and a bathroom complete with a shower over the bath.

 

Stepping outside, there’s a covered decked area around the side of the lodge where you can sit back and watch the sun go down as you enjoy a glass of wine or al fresco meal. There’s also a BBQ to use.

This is a wonderful area for taking part in numerous activities including mountain biking, walking, canoeing and fishing. You can take boat trips out to discover some of the nearby islands and lochs. Ardrishaig (1.5 miles) is a charming village with a number of great places to eat and drink, or you can visit Lochgilphead (4 miles) which offers a range of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as a swimming pool and bike hire facilities. From nearby Tarbert (10 miles) you can catch a ferry across Loch Fyne to visit the lovely Portavadie (15 miles). The pretty village of Kilmartin (11.5 miles) is steeped in history, and the surrounding province of Lorne is known for its immense concentration of ancient monuments, standing stones and burial cairns. Among the many nearby landmarks and sites are Dunadd Fort (8 miles) – where you can declare yourself king or queen for the day, Temple Wood Stone Rings, the Neither Largie Cairns, the Nether Largie Standing Stones (all within 11 miles) and the remains of Carnasserie Castle (12.5 miles). Nature lovers can visit the national nature reserves at Moine Mhor (10 miles) and Taynish (16 miles), the Argyll Beaver and Wildlife Visitor Centre in Barrandaimh (9 miles) or the spectacular Knapdale Forest (9.5 miles). You can also explore the 200-year old Crinan Canal by foot, bike or boat (6 miles) or visit the beautiful National Trust property of Arduaine Garden set on the Sound of Jura (22 miles).

Westwinds is on a great position on Loch Fyne giving stunning views. The covered decking at the side is a great place to sit even when it's raining. Well equipped and comfortable. Newly fitted kitchen and bathroom are lovely! Great place for dark skies viewing of the stars on a clear night

The cabin is in a stunning location with a beautiful vista from the lounge. There is a small but picturesque beach, ideal for children and dogs. Westwinds was a comfortable and well appointed log cabin, ideal as a toring base for Loch Fyne region.

It is in a lovely position right on the loch on a large site with one other lodge. On the downside It is really too small for 4 people and is very close to the busy A83 which disturbed our early mornings.

Stunning location! We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. It had everything we could have wished for. We spent most evenings on the veranda overlooking the private beach and stunning views across the loch. Lots of amazing wildlife in the area and a very handy location to explore the western highlands and islands of Scotland.

Beautiful place, the views, sunrises etc are fantastic. The beach in front is just lovely to sit or walk on. Few other lovely beaches not too far. The local towns seem to have lost a lot their shops sadly. Good parking most places and mostly free! Lovely base to relax and unwind. We took our dog who absolutely loved it. We loved our New Year stay, thank you. The lochside location is tremendous and we were really comfortable there. We saw lots of birdlife incl. divers, curlews, eider ducks and lots more as well as porpoises and seals plus an otter on a drive out. Nearby, we had a couple of early starts to the beaver lochs and got lucky seeing one twice swim across Read morethe loch. There is a lot of road noise which may put some off but despite that, for us, we would love to stay there again. Owners friendly & helpful. Hide

Lovely setting with gorgeous views over Loch Fyne. Our only issue was the lodge being so close to the road and the sound of traffic in the early morning in the main bedroom.

Lovely area with plenty to see and great walking. The lodge is well equipped and the views are stunning. Gated verandah excellent to keep dog safe. Only downside is close proximity to the fairly busy road.

Perfect for a quiet break for couples. The proximity of the fast traffic on the road might discourage families with young kids. The Lodge was very well equipped and the big full-length window facing down the loch with a view of Arran was alone worth coming for. The wifi works really well, which was important for me. It would be difficult to find a more beautiful location for a holiday than this lodge looking down Loch Fyne. The lodge is however not very big and I think four adults would find it rather cramped but it would be fine for a family with two children.
