The island incorporates around 300 miles of coastline, and at its heart, lies Ben More, a Munro reaching up to 3,169ft. You’ll find the white sandy beaches of Mull, beautifully quiet; some with pink granite outcrops, others with stunning panoramic views, only found after walking down secret paths, around rocky coves.
Basking sharks and whales cruise from the coastline where clumsy flocks of puffins find haven and rare sea eagles are often spotted. There are guided sea eagle tours on the Isle of Mull – the island being one of the best places to see the rare birds.
The island’s main town – Tobermory - is famous for its colourful waterfront buildings and lighthouse that has characteristically been adapted in the popular children’s TV programme ‘Balamory’. Lochbuie is found on the southern coast of the island but you can also explore neighbouring Island of Iona across the Ross of Mull too.
