Famed for two championship links golf courses, and award-winning beaches, the sunny and dry Victorian spa town of Nairn is a visitors’ hotspot on the beautiful Moray Firth coastline.
Nairn is an excellent base for exploring the highlands. It’s around a half hour’s drive away from Inverness, 20 miles away from the former cathedral city of Elgin and around an hour’s drive away from Aviemore and the Cairngorms National Park. Its location on the Moray Firth coastline offers any visitor staying in a self-catering cottage here fantastic views.
The Moray Firth coastline is home to a colony of dolphins, and they are often spotted from the viewpoints and award-winning beaches along the shores of Nairn. In addition to its beaches, there are also some spectacular areas of outstanding natural beauty along its coastline. Culbin Forest and Culbin Sands Nature Reserve are fine examples of such places.
