St Andrews is world famed for being the ‘birthplace of golf’ hosting the oldest golf course in the world.
The famous ‘Old Course’ attracts visitors from around the world, and there’s also an excellent British Golfing Museum.
St Andrews has a remarkable cathedral, and although in ruins, is still an atmospheric corner of the town not to miss. St Andrews Botanic Gardens, Cameron Reservoir and Eden Estuary are popular spots for nature lovers, as are the two sandy beaches, from which sea birds, dolphins and even whales are spotted from.
